On the occasion of the Third Congress of the Arab Women Organisation (AWO), Mrs. Leila Ben Ali, Spouse of the President of the Republic and a Chairwoman of the AWO, inaugurated, yesterday afternoon in Gammarth, a monument dubbed, Arab Women Square, in commemoration of the AWO's Third Congress, held in Tunis, October 28-30, 2010. Mrs. Leila Ben Ali was accompanied by Arab First Ladies and Heads of participant Arab delegations. They took knowledge, in a festive atmosphere, of the monument's characteristics and its symbolic dimensions. Mrs. Leila Ben Ali and her distinguished guests then paid a visit to the Basma's Centre for the Integration of the Disabled. They were shown, through a video, the different components of the establishment and its noble humanitarian objectives. Mrs. Leila Ben Ali and her distinguished guests also walked through the various spaces making up this new social establishment, which stems from the Basma Association for the Promotion of Employment for the Disabled chaired by her Tunisia's First Lady. Tunisia's distinguished guests were acquainted with the equipment as well as the various facilities available in the Centre for the training and rehabilitation of the disabled. Mrs. Leila Ben Ali's guests voiced admiration at this multidisciplinary achievement which provides the disabled with the best job opportunities and integration into the economic circuit. The Spouse of the President of the Republic and her distinguished guests attended an exhibition of handicrafts made by the Basma Association beneficiaries.
